Additional Background

Prior to establishing Chicane Labs, Erin was a founding member of the leadership team at Vice President Al Gore's non-profit organization, the Alliance for Climate Protection (now Climate Reality Project), where she directed the technology and policy activities for the then largest-ever mobilization on climate and clean energy, resulting in a shift in the national conversation on coal power reliance and clean electricity potential.

Prior to joining the Alliance, Erin was a Senior Technologist in the transportation group of the consulting firm TIAX LLC (formerly Arthur D. Little). Erin has a M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering and a B.S. in Earth Systems-Energy Technology from Stanford University. Originally from Boulder, Colorado, Erin was based in the San Francisco Bay Area for nearly 20 years and now resides on the East Coast.

What’s behind our name?

In her earlier life as a bike racer, Erin discovered that the ideal moment to attack the peloton is heading into a chicane, a bend in the road. It's the place where an individual can maneuver faster and more nimbly than a slower moving peloton. America is currently in our clean energy chicane. We must attack our current challenges, leveraging new participants and new technologies to drive traditional and risk-averse energy and transportation sectors in a new direction. We can exit the chicane with a brighter, cleaner future by taking strategic action right now.
